What Is Digital Resilience Bonus (DRB)?

The Digital Resilience Bonus ( DRB ) will be currently targeted or exclusive to Food Services and Retail sectors. There is a greater urgency for these sectors to digitalise and adapt quickly due to the front-facing nature of their businesses. It will also help to these sectors to be more resilient and adapt to the new post-COVID norms. 

Food Services & Retail businesses that are incorporated on or before 26 May 2020 and have adopted pre-defined categories of digital solutions by 30 June 2021 can receive bonus payouts of up to $10,000, if they have:

i. Adopt PayNow Corporate & E-Invoicing; and
ii. Adopt the Pre-defined Categories of Digital Solutions

How Do Businesses Apply For Digital Resilience Bonus (DRB)?


  1. There is no need for you to apply for the bonus.

  2. Let your PSG pre-approved solutions provider know and they will submit your UEN to IMDA if you are using the solutions from 1st June 2020 to 30th June 2021.

  3. IMDA will automatically credit the Bonus to your PayNow Corporate based on the categories of solutions you used.

Are You Eiligible?

Mandatory Baseline

  1. Does your business fall under Food Service & Retails sector? (Check your ACRA) 

    • Food Services enterprises include restaurants, cafes, snack bars and food kiosks, bakeries, fast food outlets, food caterers, canteens, food courts, coffee shops and eating houses.

    • Retail enterprises include those in footwear, bags, clothing, furniture, jewellery, watches, cosmetics, hardware, pet supplies, toys, books, handphones and computer hardware.

  2. Company must be incorporated on or before 26th May 2020.

  3. Have active PayNow Corporate account.

  4. Company registered and on Peppol E-Invoicing network.

If all above is Yes, you may proceed to check further below if you have also meet the digital solutions to adopt in the pre-defined categories.

If some is No, don't worry you can refer other available grants that may be applicable to your business too.

What Are The Digital Solutions That qualify For DRB?

Examples on how does it work for each category in each sector:

  1. Cat 1 - An F&B company must adopt ALL the listed Accounting, HR/Payroll and Digital Ordering to entitle for $2,500 bonus.

  2. Cat 2 - A Retail company can adopt E-commerce (online shop) to entitle for $2,500 bonus.

  3. You can adopt solutions from either one or all the categories so you can entitle for the bonus allocated for different categories.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)


1. When can I receive the payment? How can I check if I have been paid? 

  • The first enterprises that adopt the pre-defined solutions will receive their first Bonus payouts in August 2020. Those that adopt later will receive their Bonus payouts in later months. IMDA will have a monthly cycle of assessing enterprises’ eligibility
    for the Bonus and making 
    the Bonus payouts.


  • Assessment of eligibility for the DRB payouts is based on whether an enterprise has used the solution, regardless of the date when the solution was deployed.

  • The Bonus payout will be paid through your PayNow Corporate account. You can check your account statement to see if you have been paid.

2. Must the solutions adopted be new? If I already have existing solutions under the pre-defined categories, am I still eligible for the Digital Resilience Bonus (DRB)? 

  • Yes, enterprises are eligible for the Digital Resilience Bonus (DRB) as long as the adopted solutions fall under the respective categories and are listed under the scheme on the IMDA website.

  • Assessment of eligibility for the DRB payouts is based on whether an enterprise has used the solution, regardless of the date when the solution was deployed.
